Non reassuring fetal status

Terms "perinatal asphyxia", "intrauterine hypoxia" and "fetal distress" do not certainly reflect the degree of threat for the fetus. Some instances, among them the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologysts (ACOG), have proposed the expression: "non reassuring fetal status", to describe clinical findings or disorders in the fetal heart rate.
